FULL ITINERARY
Ship Arrival
Begin your city adventure with a scenic drive along the harbor road as we make our way to the heart of Dunedin. This fantastic 4-hour city tour offers in-depth commentary on famous landmarks, and you’ll have plenty of time to explore each of the sights. For more Dunedin shore excursions, visit Shore Excursions Asia.
Tour Highlights
First, stop at Baldwin Street, the steepest street in the world. You can either walk up or, if time permits, we may try to drive you up for a quick view. Continue to the Dunedin Railway Station, a stunning example of Flemish Renaissance architecture, and Signal Hill Lookout for a breathtaking panoramic view of Dunedin city, the harbor, and Otago Peninsula.
You’ll also visit the University of Otago, New Zealand's first university, and take a stroll through the Botanical Gardens. The tour also includes a stop at The Octagon, the city center, to admire the magnificent buildings and historic Victorian hotels.
Free Time in Dunedin
The tour will conclude with a return to the ship. However, if you wish to explore the Octagon area further or shop for souvenirs, you may choose to stay in the city center. If you do, you will need to take a shuttle bus (at your own cost) back to the ship.
