FULL ITINERARY
Ship Arrival
Begin one of our Abu Dhabi shore excursions with Shore Excursions Asia, heading inland to the tranquil oasis town of Al Ain, known as the “Garden City” of the Emirates. Meet your professional guide at Abu Dhabi Cruise Port and set out on a scenic drive through desert landscapes and date palm plantations. Along the way, admire the rugged peaks that form the natural border between the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.
Al Jahili Fort
Your first stop is Al Jahili Fort, a beautifully restored 19th-century fortress once home to the local governor and the Trucial Scouts, a historic force that maintained peace in the mountain region. Explore its courtyards, watchtowers, and exhibitions showcasing the legacy of early Emirati life.
Lunch in Al Ain
Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a refined local hotel, surrounded by the serene greenery that earned Al Ain its name as the Garden City. Relax and taste a variety of Arabian and international dishes before continuing your exploration.
Al Ain Museum or Qasr Al Muwaiji Fort
Continue to visit the Al Ain Museum, featuring rich ethnographic and archaeological collections illustrating the UAE’s earliest civilizations. If the museum is under renovation, the tour will include Qasr Al Muwaiji Fort, the former home of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE.
Local Market Visit
Before returning, stop at a traditional market where traders sell camel milk, dates, spices, and local produce. This authentic glimpse into everyday Emirati commerce highlights the cultural diversity and heritage of inland life.
