Usa Jingu Shrine

Travel to Usa Jingu, one of the most important Shinto shrines in Japan and the head shrine of more than 40,000 Hachiman shrines across the country. Walk through the spacious forested grounds and admire the distinctive vermilion and white architecture of this historic sanctuary.

Beppu Jigoku Tour

Continue to the famous Beppu Jigoku, a collection of spectacular geothermal sites created by volcanic activity beneath the region.

Visit Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), known for its vivid cobalt-blue hot spring; Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell), distinguished by its striking red waters; Tatsumaki Jigoku, where a powerful geyser erupts at regular intervals; and Shiraike Jigoku (White Pond Hell), featuring pale bluish-white geothermal waters.

Myoban Onsen Yunosato & Yunohana Goya

Continue to Myoban Onsen Yunosato, a traditional hot spring area nestled in the hills above Beppu. Discover the distinctive Yunohana Goya, thatched huts used to produce natural hot spring mineral crystals known as Yunohana.

Learn about the traditional production method that has been preserved since the Edo period and observe how geothermal steam and mineral-rich clay are used to create these natural bath salts.

Return to Beppu Port
