Ship Arrival at Naha Port
Upon your cruise ship’s arrival at Naha port, meet your English-speaking guide holding a welcome board at the designated pick-up point. Board your chartered car or coach and begin this Naha - Okinawa shore excursions experience through the island’s natural wonders, royal heritage and lively capital.
Gyokusendo Cave at Okinawa World
Begin with a visit to Gyokusendo Cave, an impressive limestone cave located within Okinawa World. Follow the illuminated underground walkway past remarkable stalactites, stalagmites and natural rock formations shaped over hundreds of thousands of years.
Enjoy the cool underground environment as your guide introduces the cave’s geological features. The route includes steps and damp surfaces, so comfortable, non-slip walking shoes are recommended.
Shuri Castle
Continue to Shuri Castle, the former royal centre of the Ryukyu Kingdom and part of Okinawa’s UNESCO-listed cultural heritage. Explore the castle park, admire its distinctive gates and traditional architectural details, and learn about the kingdom’s political and cultural history.
Your guide will also explain the castle’s ongoing restoration following the 2019 fire. Access to individual buildings and viewing areas may vary according to the restoration schedule.
Tamaudun Royal Mausoleum
Visit Tamaudun, the royal mausoleum constructed for the rulers of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Walk through its stone-walled grounds and admire the traditional Okinawan masonry used to create this historically significant resting place.
Learn about the royal family, local burial customs and the mausoleum’s relationship with nearby Shuri Castle.
Naha Kokusai Dori Shopping Street
Continue to Kokusai Dori, Naha’s vibrant central shopping street. Enjoy free time to explore its souvenir shops, local markets, cafés and restaurants while experiencing the lively atmosphere of the city.
Browse for Okinawan crafts, traditional food products and local delicacies before meeting your guide at the designated time. Personal purchases and refreshments are at your own expense.
Return to Naha Port
After completing the visits, meet your driver for the transfer back to Naha port. Arrive with sufficient time to reboard your cruise ship. Thank you for traveling with Shore Excursions Asia!
Please note that the timing and order of the itinerary may be adjusted according to the ship’s schedule, traffic, attraction operations and local conditions. Access at Shuri Castle may vary while restoration work continues.
