FULL ITINERARY
Ship Arrival
Begin one of our signature Jordan shore excursions with a warm welcome from your local guide at Aqaba cruise port. This half-day experience with Shore Excursions Asia takes you into the heart of Wadi Rum, Jordan’s most famous desert and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known as the “Valley of the Moon,” it offers breathtaking scenery that has captivated explorers, poets, and filmmakers for generations.
Desert Drive through Wadi Rum
Uncover a bewitching desert landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and once described by T. E. Lawrence as “vast, echoing and God-like.” After a drive of approximately 50 miles to the village of Rum, meet your local Bedouin guide and transfer to a 4x4 vehicle for a two-hour off-road adventure through the starkly beautiful Wadi Rum.
Marvel at sheer granite and sandstone cliffs, ancient riverbeds, mauve-colored sands, and mountains rising dramatically from the desert floor. As you traverse this hauntingly majestic land, imagine the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia during the Great Arab Revolt of 1917-1918.
Bedouin Camp Visit
Stop at a traditional Bedouin camp for a taste of local life and warm hospitality. Learn about the nomadic traditions that continue largely unchanged through centuries and enjoy a refreshing cup of mint tea or cardamom coffee while relaxing beneath a shaded tent.
Return to Port
After this immersive desert experience, relax on the return drive to Aqaba cruise port, cherishing the images of Wadi Rum’s boundless horizons, soft sands, and tranquil silence.
