Settle into your private vehicle and begin the scenic transfer to Hoi An Ancient Town, passing through the landscapes of Central Vietnam along the way. The drive usually takes approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and port conditions.
This carefully arranged experience is part of our Hoi An shore excursions, created for cruise guests who wish to enjoy the charm of Hoi An, the calm beauty of Cam Thanh Coconut Village, and the cultural elegance of Central Vietnam within a well planned port day.
Cam Thanh Coconut Village & Bamboo Basket Boat Ride
Before entering Hoi An Ancient Town, visit Cam Thanh Coconut Village, a peaceful riverside community known for the Bay Mau Coconut Forest. Step aboard a traditional Vietnamese bamboo basket boat, locally called a thung chai, and glide through quiet waterways shaded by lush nipa palms.
As you move through the coconut forest, learn about local fishing traditions from experienced boat rowers and observe the relaxed rhythm of life along the water. When local conditions allow, you may also enjoy the lively basket boat spinning performance, a playful tradition often demonstrated by local fishermen.
