Day 1: Arrive in Shanghai

Welcome to Shanghai, a city where timeless tradition meets cutting-edge modernity. Upon your arrival, your personal guide will be waiting at the port arrival gate. Please ensure accurate cruise details are provided in advance. You will be escorted in a comfortable private vehicle to your hotel. Early check-in may be arranged depending on availability.

After a short rest, embark on a curated exploration of Shanghai’s most treasured highlights. Begin with a visit to Yu Garden, an exquisite example of classical Chinese landscaping, where pavilions, koi ponds, and winding paths reflect centuries of artistic refinement. Next, stroll through the French Concession and Xintiandi, charming neighborhoods where tree-lined streets and European architecture echo the elegance of a bygone era. Conclude the day with a walk along the Bund, a celebrated riverside promenade offering spectacular views of colonial buildings on one side and the futuristic skyline of Pudong on the other. Return to your hotel for a restful evening.

Day 2: Suzhou and Tongli Water Town

After breakfast, journey to Suzhou, a graceful city renowned for its refined gardens and rich cultural heritage. The drive takes approximately two hours. Your first stop is the Master of the Nets Garden, small in scale but brilliant in design. This intimate space showcases the art of balance and perspective found in traditional Chinese landscaping. Continue to Panmen Gate, part of Suzhou’s ancient city wall, where both land and water gates once served as vital entrances. Nearby, visit a section of the Grand Canal, the world’s oldest and longest man-made waterway, to witness the pace of local life along its banks.

Later in the afternoon, transfer to Tongli, a preserved water town where centuries-old stone bridges, narrow alleyways, and tiled-roof homes present a vivid picture of ancient China. A boat ride through the canal offers a peaceful way to absorb the rhythms of daily life in this enchanting village. After your visit, return to Shanghai in the evening.
