Upon arrival at the port, your driver and guide are waiting with the welcome board. Then, transfer to the first place on the trip – Mt. Kagamiyama Observatory. Standing on the mountain with nearly 300 meters high, listen to the mythical love tragedy of Princess Sayo Matsuura while enjoying the panoramic view over Karatsu Bay and Niji No Matsubara Pine Groves far away.
After that, visit Karatsu Castle – the proud and symbol of the city widely known as Dancing Crane Castle due to its perfect white wall and gray stone foundations. This five-story structure is home to various artifacts and ancient items such as samurai arms, swords, pikes, local ceramics, documents, and original castle roof tiles.
Continue on to Yobuko Area where famous for the fishery industry, especially squid. Sample a scrumptious lunch at a local restaurant. The must-try dish is sashimi made with delicious fresh-caught squid.
Last but not less, head to Genkai Undersea Observatory Tower. From the deck of the tower, enjoy the underwater view from the floating island located 7 meters below Genkai Sea. Witness the marine life including sea bream, neon damselfish, seaweeds, grass puffer, and so on. Trip ends with a drive back to port.
