FULL ITINERARY
Ship Arrival and Port Pick-up
Upon your cruise ship’s arrival, meet your English-speaking guide holding a welcome board at the designated pick-up point. Board your chartered car or coach and begin exploring Sapporo’s seasonal scenery, cultural landmarks and local heritage.
Maruyama Park
Begin with a visit to Maruyama Park, one of Sapporo’s most popular green spaces. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the peaceful park, surrounded by mature trees and attractive seasonal scenery. During spring, the park becomes especially beautiful when cherry blossoms brighten the pathways and draw local visitors for traditional flower viewing. Outside the blossom season, the tranquil woodland setting still provides a relaxing introduction to the city.
Hokkaido Shrine
Continue to Hokkaido Shrine, an important Shinto sanctuary located within the forested grounds beside Maruyama Park. Walk along the tree-lined approach and admire the peaceful atmosphere, traditional shrine buildings and ceremonial spaces.
Learn about local Shinto customs and the shrine’s cultural importance to Hokkaido. Guests should behave respectfully and follow their guide’s instructions while visiting the sacred grounds.
Former Hokkaido Government Office Building
Visit the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, commonly known as the Red Brick Office. Admire its distinctive red-brick exterior and Western-style architecture while learning about Hokkaido’s early administrative and development history.
Enjoy time for photographs and explore the surrounding grounds. Access to interior areas may depend on opening schedules and local operations on the day of the tour.
Sapporo Clock Tower
Make a photo stop at the Sapporo Clock Tower, one of the city’s most recognisable historic landmarks. Take photographs of its classic wooden exterior while your guide introduces the building’s connection to the early development of modern Sapporo.
Sapporo Beer Museum
Continue to the Sapporo Beer Museum to discover the history of beer production in Japan and the development of one of the country’s oldest and best-known beer brands.
Explore exhibits presenting Sapporo’s brewing heritage, historical advertising and traditional production methods. Beer tasting may be available at your own expense, subject to the museum’s operating conditions. Non-alcoholic options may also be available.
Return to Port
Enjoy a comfortable drive back to Muroran cruise port, ending your day with Shore Excursions Asia and arriving in time for your ship’s departure.
