Your first stop is Tochoji Temple, one of Fukuoka’s oldest and most significant Buddhist temples. Admire the massive wooden seated Buddha, and take a unique walk through the pitch-black “Hell and Paradise” corridor beneath, symbolizing the spiritual journey from darkness to enlightenment. Your guide will explain the cultural and religious meaning of this immersive experience.
Stroll through the peaceful Ohori Koen, a lakeside park built on the former moat of Fukuoka Castle.
