Ships that anchor off Halong Bay itself can also arrange tender to boat excursions.

Phu My is a commercial container port approximately 90 minutes south of Ho Chi Minh City by private vehicle. There is nothing to see at or near the port itself. The excursion value comes entirely from the drive to HCMC. This means ships need a port window of at least 8 hours for a comfortable city excursion. For ships with shorter port calls, we can arrange a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels (closer, at about 60 minutes from the port) as a good alternative.
