FULL INITERARY
Day 1: Colombo - Kandy
Your excursion begins with a meet and greet at Colombo Port, where our driver and guide will welcome you. From there, we head to Pinnawela Village, a scenic 2-hour drive from Colombo.
Our first stop will be the Millennium Elephant Foundation, an organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for captive Asian elephants. Located on a 15-acre estate in Samaragiri, the foundation is a 10 km drive northwest of Kegalle, in Sri Lanka's Sabaragamuwa Province.
Afterward, enjoy a local lunch in Pinnawela before visiting the Spice Garden in Mawanella to explore Sri Lanka’s rich array of spices.
Arriving in Kandy, experience the traditional Sri Lankan Cultural Dance Performance, a vibrant introduction to the island’s heritage. Following the performance, visit the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, the Sri Dalada Maligawa, where the sacred tooth of Buddha is housed. This temple, built in the 16th century, is situated near the Royal Palace and overlooks the serene Kandy Lake.
In the evening, check into your city hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner. The rest of the night is free for your own relaxation at The Golden Crown Hotel.
Day 2: Kandy - Giragama - Colombo
After breakfast and hotel check-out, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, just 5.5 km west of Kandy. The gardens are renowned for their vast collection of orchids and other tropical plants, making it one of the most beautiful and diverse botanical collections in Sri Lanka.
For lunch, we’ll stop at Xiang Yun Chinese Restaurant in Kandy before heading back to Colombo. Along the way, visit the Giragama Tea Factory, one of Kandy’s premium tea plantations. Sri Lanka’s unique climate and terroir make it an ideal location for growing the world-famous Ceylon Tea, known for its excellent quality and flavor.
